Math skills and prerequisites
What this game practices
- Recognize factors of a whole number
- Connect factor pairs to multiplication and exact division
- Compare prime and composite targets
Explore: Factors · Multiplication · Division · Spatial reasoning & planning
Before playing
- Know basic multiplication facts
- Understand that a factor divides a number with no remainder
- Follow a moving object and control a paddle
Getting started
Choose PLAY to begin the endless run.
Read TARGET and the FACTORS list at the top of the game.
Move with Left/Right arrows or A/D on a keyboard, move the mouse, or drag your finger across the playfield.
How to play
- Keep the paddle under a descending egg so it bounces back toward the wall.
- Aim rebounds toward useful gaps and highlighted numbered bricks. Every numbered brick is a genuine factor of the displayed target.
- Breaking a numbered factor brick activates a random power-up. Ordinary colored bricks also break and help open a path.
- Send an egg through the top of the wall to advance. You do not have to destroy every brick first.
- Use Space or tap to release a sticky egg or perform the current action. If all eggs fall below the paddle, the run ends.
- Choose Pause or press Escape to pause. Resume continues the run; Settings controls music and sound effects.
TRY THE REASONING
Worked example
Spot factors of 24
- For TARGET 24, the factor list is 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 and 24.
- Explain a pair: 3 × 8 = 24, so both 3 and 8 are factors. Equivalently, 24 ÷ 3 = 8 with no remainder.
- A numbered 8 brick is therefore a factor brick. Breaking it gives a power-up; the target stays 24 until the level advances.
The game displays the factors and rewards hitting them. Use those displays to explain multiplication and division relationships while you play.
Scoring, success and round endings
- Progress is measured by LEVEL reached and BEST level. The game does not present a separate point total.
- Later levels gradually increase challenge through faster eggs, additional rows, a narrower paddle and tougher ordinary bricks.
- A completed level is the platform reward accomplishment.
Modes, settings and progression
Endless run
Start at level 1 and keep breaking through new target walls until all eggs are lost.
Prime walls
Occasional later walls have a prime target with only 1 and the prime as factors. Breaking either numbered factor triggers a Prime Jackpot and advances the wall.
Pause and audio settings
Pause freezes play. Music track, music volume and sound-effects volume can be adjusted separately.
Strategies and troubleshooting
- Keep watching the lowest descending egg when Multiball is active.
- Use where the egg meets the paddle to change the rebound direction.
- Name a factor pair before aiming at its numbered bricks. The game is action-based recognition practice, not a typed-answer quiz.
Classroom and home use
Suggested activity: One partner controls the paddle while the other reads the target and explains its factor pairs. Pause to discuss a new target, then swap roles.
Questions to discuss
- Which multiplication facts prove these numbers are factors?
- Why does a prime target have only two positive factors?
- How do 24 ÷ 6 and 6 × 4 describe the same relationship?
This is a teaching suggestion, not an extra mode or a promised learning outcome.
