Math skills and prerequisites

What this game practices

  • Continue sequences by adding a fixed step
  • Connect repeated addition with multiples
  • Track the next term while choosing a lane

Explore: Number patterns · Addition · Multiplication

Before playing

  • Read whole numbers
  • Add the selected step to the previous number

Getting started

Choose a tier and select Start. The run reveals its counting step; you cannot select an exact step within a tier.

Guests can play. Platform rewards require a verified signed-in account and active player profile.

How to play

  1. Read Count by and the sequence at the top. Add the step to the last correct number to find the next egg.
  2. Use Left/Right arrows on desktop. Tap the left or right half of the play field on touchscreens.
  3. Catch the correct number from each pair. Update your expected value after every correct catch.
  4. A wrong choice ends the run and reveals the correct next number. Tap the correction screen to see Results; Space or Enter also continues on the web.
  5. Results show Eggs caught, Highest number and Personal best for that step. Play Again repeats the tier; Change Level returns to tier choices.

TRY THE REASONING

Worked example

Count by fives

  1. The step is 5 and your last catch is 10.
  2. 10 + 5 = 15. From a pair showing 15 and 20, choose 15.
  3. After catching 15, expect 20. These are also 5 × 3 and 5 × 4.

Choose the next term, not just any multiple: 20 is a multiple of 5 but is too early immediately after 10.

Scoring, success and round endings

  • Eggs caught counts correct catches. Highest number is the last correct sequence value; four catches at step 5 reach 20.
  • Personal best is tracked by counting step. Runs become faster as correct catches accumulate.
  • Eligible profiles earn 10 platform coins per correct catch, paid after the final result. Coin effects do not run during catching.

Modes, settings and progression

Hatchling

Coop Chaos

Strategies and troubleshooting

  • Say the next term before the pair reaches you.
  • Update the expected value immediately after each catch.
  • Use the revealed correction to continue the sequence aloud before restarting.

Classroom and home use

Suggested activity: A partner predicts the next term while the player chooses a lane. Swap roles and discuss the correction after a run.

Questions to discuss

  • What follows 18 when counting by 6?
  • Why is a later multiple not always the next answer?
  • How do five catches at step 4 connect to 4 × 5?

This is a teaching suggestion, not an extra mode or a promised learning outcome.

Play and progress

Guest play does not require an account. For shared arcade coin rewards, use a verified account with an active player profile. Game scores and shared coins are different; only confirmed platform awards update the shared balance. Follow each game’s guide for its own restart and resume behavior.
