Combine values, complete sums and connect equations with answers.
Addition is more than remembering an answer. Games can ask players to choose values that make a target, recognize an equation, or explain why two quantities fit together.
Choose a game that matches the kind of practice you want: visible target sums, equation-and-answer matching, or a guided curriculum. Movement and memory add different demands, so the same arithmetic can feel very different in each game.
How to choose
- Math MatchMatch an addition equation to its answer, with time to reason before turning the next card.
- Egg ConveyorChoose incoming values that complete a changing target.
- Math 'n' HatchUse the Addition & Subtraction curriculum for question rounds and progression.
A suggested discussion
pause before a choice and ask the player to describe the two parts and their total.
- What total are you trying to make?
- Can you find a different combination with the same total?
- Which part of your strategy uses addition?
