Math with movement or planning

Eggy Jump

Steer an automatically bouncing egg up numbered platforms. Multiples of the displayed target give a stronger bounce.

Math skills and prerequisites

What this game practices

  • Recognize target multiples
  • Connect multiplication facts with a landing choice
  • Judge whether a useful platform is reachable

Explore: Multiplication · Division · Number patterns · Spatial reasoning & planning

Before playing

  • Read whole numbers
  • Recognize or calculate simple multiples

Getting started

Open Eggy Jump from the arcade. Bouncing begins automatically; check the × target near the top.

Guests can play. Platform coins require a verified signed-in account and active player profile.

How to play

  1. Hold Left/Right arrows or A/D to steer on desktop. On touchscreens, hold the left or right half of the play field.
  2. The egg jumps automatically. Steer over a platform to land while coming down; there is no jump button.
  3. Read the target: ×4 means 4, 8, 12 and other multiples of 4 give a stronger bounce.
  4. A non-multiple gives a normal bounce and resets your correct-platform streak. A reachable normal platform may be safer than an unreachable multiple.
  5. Climb to increase Height. Falling below the play field ends the run. Click or tap after game over to restart; Enter or Space also restarts.

TRY THE REASONING

Worked example

Choose a useful landing

  1. Suppose the target is ×4 and platforms read 12 and 14.
  2. 12 is a multiple because 4 × 3 = 12. It gives a stronger bounce; 14 does not.
  3. If 12 is out of reach, landing on 14 can keep the run alive while you plan another move.

Multiplication identifies a stronger platform; spatial judgement decides whether it is a safe landing.

Scoring, success and round endings

  • Height records the greatest upward distance reached; it does not add platform numbers.
  • Correct-multiple landings build a streak; another landing resets it. Best Height and Best Streak preserve previous bests.
  • Eligible profiles earn floor(final Height / 100) platform coins after natural game over with genuine steering. Coin effects wait until bouncing has ended.

Modes, settings and progression

Changing target runs

A fresh run chooses ×2 through ×10. There is no target or difficulty selector; restarting changes the target.

Strategies and troubleshooting

  • Check the target before chasing a familiar number: 12 helps with ×3 or ×4, but not ×5.
  • Release a direction before overshooting a platform.
  • Use a normal bounce as a stepping stone when a stronger landing would be unsafe.

Classroom and home use

Suggested activity: One partner names visible target multiples while the player steers. Swap roles after a run.

Questions to discuss

  • How does 6 × 3 show that 18 is a multiple of 6?
  • When is a non-multiple the safer landing?
  • Why is Height different from the sum of platform numbers?

This is a teaching suggestion, not an extra mode or a promised learning outcome.

Play and progress

Guest play does not require an account. For shared arcade coin rewards, use a verified account with an active player profile. Game scores and shared coins are different; only confirmed platform awards update the shared balance. Follow each game’s guide for its own restart and resume behavior.
